Job Responsibilities

The Office of the Vice President for Research of the College of Engineering is responsible for a wide range of activities, which are carried out through its subordinate units.

The main responsibilities include:

• Supervising the execution of research contracts
• Expanding accounting activities and handling all financial matters related to applied research contracts
• Activating and implementing memoranda of understanding (MOUs) concluded between the University or the College of Engineering and domestic and international organizations and universities
• Establishing the Scientific Research Centers Coordination Council within the College
• Establishing the College Journals Coordination Council
• Following up on matters related to the College's research institutes
• Improving and expediting the administrative and executive processes of the Vice Presidency and enhancing the level of documentation
• Holding regular meetings with the Vice Deans for Research of the constituent faculties
• Holding regular meetings with Research Directors
• Following up on and managing internship-related matters
• Following up on and managing internship project programs
• Reviewing and allocating research grants
• Handling all matters related to the expenditure of dedicated research grant funds
• Handling all matters related to academic and scientific trips
• Handling all matters related to incentives for research outputs, including published articles
• Handling all matters related to research projects
• Handling all matters related to research assignments and research stipends
• Establishing relationships with industries and organizations for the conclusion of research contracts and cooperation agreements
• Following up on and facilitating legal and statutory matters, including insurance and taxation, related to applied research contracts
